Karen j Weisman, MSEd.
Independent Licensed School Psychologist #355

I earned my B.S. in Psychology (1975) with a minor in Child Development, from Florida State University, where I was President of Psi Chi (National Honor Society in Psychology). I received my MSEd. and Professional Certificate in School Psychology (1977) from Queens College, NY.

I served as a consultant to the NYC Board of Education, was a Crisis Intervention Counselor, directed workshops on intelligence testing, was a Special Needs Coordinator and School Psychologist in public schools in Massachusetts, where I was also employed in the Learning Disorders Unit of Massachusetts General Hospital. In Florida, I have been a volunteer at Coral Ridge Psychiatric Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Headstart Consultant, School Psychologist in Duval and St. Johns Counties, and a Consultant at Charter Hospital and the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind.  Currently, I dedicate myself to evaluating children for gifted programs.

My specialty is assessing your child for the purpose of determining eligibility for gifted programs. Most school systems require an intellectual evaluation with an IQ of 130, as well as a demonstrated need for an advanced curriculum. My goal is to help you determine if your child would benefit from such programming.
